  1. Brite Signs – Barbara Mathies

Propsal – to eliminate or reduce number of Brite Signs on corner of Elbow Drive and 5th St. S.W., preference is to eliminate completely from the neighbourhood.

·      Potential donor to develop park on corner of Elbow Drive & 5th St. S.W. but Brite Signs would make it difficult to pursue.

·      EPRA can develop guidelines limiting the placement of signs.  The City By-law department with guideline details would require a letter.

·      EPRA can limit time for sign placements.

·      EPRA can limit signage to non-profit requests only

·      Barbara Mathies will follow up with City By-law dept.

·      Alderman King’s riding

·      2nd & 5th St. conversion to two way was discussed.  Alderman Erskine has expressed concern and would like to have the streets changed back to on-way.  EPRA will support Cliff Bungalow in retaining 5th & 2nd Streets as two way.  Residents who support this decision should e-mail Alderman Erskine.

  1. Development – Barbara Mathies

·      EPRA appealed but lost a front to back development on Landsdowne Ave.

·      The City has been inconsistent on decisions

·      Shadowing is often an issue for adjoining residents in such expansive development.

·      Alderman Erskine is going to approach Enmax for lamp donations

·      Alderman Erskine continues to be committed to Elbow Drive

·      Pathway alon Elbow Drive will be completed and the river pathway will be retained.

·      Lights on Elbow Drive have the wrong intensity lighting.  This issue will be pursued with Rick Sample at City of Calgary.  Spacing of the lights appears to be too close.

·      Curb bulbs to be installed at Sifton Blvd. & 14th St. S.W.

·      The island at Sifton Blvd and 38th Ave is to be redesigned.
