Elbow Drive Streetscape Plan Almost Complete
The Elbow Drive Streetscape plan shoud be complete
by the end of September. We still need to raise another $100,000 to purchase the
remaining lampposts. The Glencoe Storm Sewer project recently was built across
Elbow Drive again congesting the route. The two projects had to be coordinated
by the city to try and reduce
disruption.
Already we are getting comments on how much nicer and safer it is to walk along Elbow Drive.
A new bike/skating path is near completion adjacent to the roadway on the east side. The walking path that winds down to the river's edge will be retained for pedestrians. The EPRA worked hard to retain this wonderful walking path as the City wanted to widen it to accommodate bikes and roller-bladers.Jerry Shaw Park has been slightly modified to create room for the wider bike path.
