Stage 2 Approved by City

Community survey in "West" Elbow Park shows extremely strong support

Stage 2 of the Elbow Park Traffic Calming Plan was approved by the City Council in June 2004. This fall we hope to see more speed humps installed (13 in total) as well as one traffic circle (at 32 Ave/ & St) installed permanently. The rest of the traffic circles will be installed in the spring with the remaining speed humps.

West Elbow Park was surveyed by Alderman Erskine in June 2004 to gauge support for making the traffic circles permanent. A huge response of over 70% of surveys were returned with 76% in favour of making the existing traffic circles permanent and 70% in favour of adding a new circle at 34 Ave/13 St. This is by far the best return rate ever for a traffic survey in Calgary!
