William Reid School Council Supports Traffic Plan
The William Reid School Council has expressed their
strong support of the Elbow Park Traffic Plan, in particular, the measures near
William Reid School.
Below is a quote from a letter to the City from the
William Reid School Council:
"The specific traffic
calming measures taken around the school
involving
our key intersection and the
speed bumps were anticipated to be in
place
over the summer but were delayed
till September. Once these
temporary
measures were in place, the
measures were very effective at making
people
notice that they had to change
their driving habits and the results
were
considered VERY
FAVORABLE.
The teachers that
supervise the patrols, the parents driving and
walking
their children to school, the
principle and the parent council have
all
agreed that these measures are
helpful and should be extended to further
the
safety of children in the school
zones and traffic intersections
that
surround the school."
