Donations to Elbow Park Beautification are tax deductible

The Parks Foundation has offered to act as our agent to handle donations in a trust fund.

Donations can be directed to specific projects and elements of a project, for example to a bench, street lamp, trees etc. All donations are tax deductible and donors will receive a tax receipt from the Parks Foundation.

All enhancements that are the community's responsibility to fund will be staged according to the funds received.

The first project to proceed is the Elbow Drive Streetscape Plan. In order to start construction on this project, in particular, to provide the infrasructure for new street lamps the Community needs to provide a guarantee of financial backing to the City. This will be done through a local improvement levy on property taxes in Elbow Park. The City has agreed that this levy will be delayed from being applied to taxes by 2 or 3 years. Residents will not see any levy on their taxes as we expect fundraising to offset the levy prior to its application to taxes. In the event that fundraising is not sufficient additional enhancements will be eliminiated.

Donations have already been received

Designs are in place, the Parks Foundation is ready to issue receipts, a fundraising group is now getting organized, and money has already been donated.

What a better way to put beauty back into the community. Honour a family member, leave long lasting legacy by donating.

Detailed information will be delivered to your home within the next month. In the meantime if you have any questions or are interested in participating please call Barbara Mathies at 243-2133.

Of course keep checking back to elbowpark.com for updates.
