Vacant Roles
As the old saying goes “It takes a Village” and in this case it takes passionate volunteers to make our community the incredible place to live that it is. We know that everyone has busy lives and appreciate when anyone can contribute to our community. We want to thank Neil van der Wissel and Sarah Geddes who have done a great job for us in their respective roles of Treasurer and Communications Director and are now looking to pass those roles on to other passionate volunteers. In addition, there are a number of other opportunities listed below that we encourage community members to consider to support our amazing neighbourhood. The EPRA volunteer openings are as follows:
TREASURER The key activities the role of treasurer include managing weekly payable process with EPRA's bookkeeper, mailing/delivering cheques to vendors; Raising invoices through Communal (weekly); Monthly finance reporting to the board, and attendance of monthly board meeting; and Ad hoc reporting and planning, including: preparing annual budget, filing annual returns, charity returns, GST returns, AGLC reporting, overseeing the annual financial statement audit. Requires about 2 hours per week on this role. A bit more during our year-end processes. If you are interested, please email volunteer@elbowpark.com.
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR The key activities of this role are to manage the EPRA website to ensure information is current, accurate and provides key on-line information for the members of the community association. Experience with SquareSpace web development and computer literacy would be beneficial. If you are interested, please email volunteer@elbowpark.com.
CLUBHOUSE DIRECTOR The key actives of this role involve managing the Community Clubhouse including rentals and coordination for any special events requiring the Clubhouse. If you are interested, please email volunteer@elbowpark.com.
SPONSORSHIP DIRECTOR The key activities for this role are to solicit sponsors for key events and to ensure that sponsors are appropriately recognized and thanked. If you are interested, please email volunteer@elbowpark.com.
DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS The EPRA Development Review committee is looking for volunteers to join the committee to assist with the role of reviewing proposed development and specific development applications submitted to the City to ensure the integrity and historic character of our community is preserved. Architecture or Development background would be beneficial but is not required. If you are interested, please email development@elbowpark.com.
ADOPT-A-TRAFFIC CIRCLE The key activity for this role is to gather neighbours to help weed, prune, and nurture the garden inside traffic circles during the Summer months - this is a fun way to beautify the neighbourhood! Some neighbours even pull their hoses over to the circle on dry days without being an official volunteer. If you are interested, please email volunteer@elbowpark.com.
BLOCK CAPTAIN Volunteer to be the captain of your own residential block and assist with Emergency Plans, Crime Reduction Messages, Membership Drive and other Block Participation in Elbow Park. One time job & meet the neighbours on your block! 2 hours/month. If you are interested, please email volunteer@elbowpark.com.
