Rink rentals at Elbow Park Clubhouse

Please note: Ice rentals are for EPRA members ONLY.  Due to volunteer capacity, rental requests from non-EPRA members will not receive a reply. 

GENERAL INFO
In the winter season, the EPRA Clubhouse features multiple ice skating and hockey/ringette rink surfaces for the enjoyment of the community. The east rink is available for rent by community members for casual or team use.


The rink has full boards with two gates (there is one entry gap along the boards), night lights, benches, nets, and fences behind the nets. The public clubhouse is available for skate tying, washrooms and warming up.

Teams have used the rink for casual games and practices; in collaboration with Hockey Calgary, teams have been occasionally able to use it as a sanctioned ice surface for a formal exhibition hockey game.

RENTAL DETAILS

The parameters for renting the ice rink:

  • Rentals on the east rink are available January to March in 90 minute blocks; clubhouse access is included, but cannot be entirely private (public skating on the other rink/skate pad and public clubhouse use is still permitted during rink rentals).

  • Clubhouse use is available daily until 8:30 pm so ice rental times are booked accordingly.

  • Best times for a rental are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after 3 pm, or weekends after 12 pm - other times may be considered.

  • The rental must be made by an Elbow Park resident with an EPRA membership (and who has held their membership for at least 6 months).

  • A team may book up to three ice times in a season.

  • Ice is provided as is; volunteers do their best to prepare the ice for bookings, but outdoor ice and weather can mean changing conditions. Shovels can be made available for clearing if needed.

FEES 

Team Rentals of East Ice Rink

  • $150 ice rental fee (90 minute block) - includes access to public clubhouse for dressing and warming up

  • Add $150 mandatory cleaning fee for teams who are running games on the ice and/or serving food/drinks in the clubhouse
